The pull (2016)
Original title: De trek
Can you love a human trafficker? Is migration the problem? Or is migration the solution? What happens to migrants after they're deported from the Netherlands? And does Africa also have anti-foreigner populists like Donald Trump or Geert Wilders? In "De Trek," correspondent Bram Vermeulen travels across the African continent to speak with key figures rarely heard in the migration debate. Human traffickers, drowning victims, deportees, and African foreigner-haters. From South Africa to Nigeria, from Niger to Senegal. Four countries, four key figures.
